1st Ward Council Member Gene Perry

Gene Perry is a lifelong Bayonne resident,  son of Doris (Dee ) Perry and brother to George, Margaret and Brian Perry. Gene is married to the Laura (Olson) Perry and together have blended family of 5 boys Jason, James, Robert. Christopher and Justin.
Gene grew up on 2nd Street and Avenue C , and now lives just a few blocks away. 

Gene graduated from Bayonne H.S in 1983 and worked at the Downtown Athletic Club in Manhattan as an Asst. Controller until 1991. In 1992 Gene joined Conrail for a short period before joining NYK Line N.A in 1993 where he worked in various operational roles until a company merger in 2018, At that time Gene joined the City of Bayonne staff as Assistant Business Administrator until 2019, when he left to return to the shipping industry joining Ocean Network Express (O.N.E). In his current capacity as Senior Manager of Cargo Integrity, he works closely with the Class 1 railroads and marine terminals in North America to improve measurements & processes in reducing cargo theft throughout the supply chain network.

While working at NYK Line full time, he continued his secondary education at Centenary University in Hacketstown. He graduated in May 2014  Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Business Administration with a minor in finance.

• Past President of Bayonne Little League and a volunteer for over 25 years
