The City of Bayonne is seeking three Code Enforcement Officers to join the Department of Municipal Services. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, conducting inspections of residential and commercial properties for compliance with applicable property maintenance regulations; investigating complaints; communicating with property owners, tenants, and other members of the public; issuing warnings and summonses when appropriate; preparing for and participating in Municipal Court proceedings as required; and conducting follow-up inspections through case resolution and close-out. Prior code enforcement or law enforcement experience is preferred. Candidates must possess strong organizational, communication, and computer skills. Bilingual or multilingual abilities are considered advantageous, particularly English/Spanish and English/Arabic. The annual starting salary is $46,035. This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week and includes a comprehensive health benefits package and participation in the Public Employees’ Retirement System (PERS), subject to eligibility. A valid New Jersey driver’s license is required. Residency in the City of Bayonne is required.
