MUNICIPALITY: City of Bayonne

POSITION TITLE: UCC Electrical Inspector (part- time, Monday & Thursday 2:30pm – 6:30pm)

POSTING DATE: 5/18/2026

SALARY: $40.00 per hour

Operating under the Civil Service, enforces the State Uniform Construction Code (NJAC 5:23) by conducting on-site inspections.

Under the direction of the Construction Official, responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

* Complex high-rise or hazardous site inspections

* Inspect electrical work in new and existing buildings to ensure compliance with approved plans with the National Electrical Code and the NJ UCC regulations

* Provides recommendations for temporary and final certificates of occupancy

* Determines the cause of electrical or energy subcode violations and takes corrective action

Minimum Job Requirements:

• HHS-level License issued by the NJ Dept. of Community Affairs
• Valid New Jersey driver’s license
