RESPONSE TO SECOND INQUIRY – POLICE EXTRA DUTY ADMINISTRATION SERVICES

Questions: When the contractor collects user payments for extra duty services, does the contractor pay (1) the City for officer payroll processing, or (2) the officers directly?

Answer:  The contractor pays the City. The Officer is paid by the City.

Question:  What insurance does the City require the contractor to provide to cover the police officers working extra duty assignments?

Answer:  The contractor/vendor is not required to provide insurance to cover the police officers while on extra duty assignments.  However, the City requires the property owners and/or the property owners’ contractors to provide such insurance pursuant to the Hold Harmless Agreement which can be accessed at the following link:   https://bayonnepd.com/worksite.htm.
