City Resident ID Cards will Now be Issued at the 16th Street Pool Beginning July 1st
Posted June 29, 2021You will now be able to apply for and receive a City of Bayonne Resident ID Card at 16th Street Pool, beginning Thursday, July 1, 2021.
The fee for a Bayonne Resident ID card is $5.00. Please bring proof of residency when applying for the City ID Card. **For children, you can provide Bayonne school report card or log into the parent portal of the Bayonne Board of Education on a mobile device, to show proof of residency.
School ID's are excepted for regular admission into the pool and also for proof of residency for a City Resident ID Card.
Daily admission fees (with resident ID/school ID) for this year will be: children 12 years old and under – $1.00, 13-64 years old – $3.00, and seniors, age 65 and above -$1.00.
You must have a City of Bayonne ID to enter the facility for the discounted admission fee.
The City also offers seasonal passes for families of four (including parents/guardians and children under age 17) for $200, and each additional child is $15. Seasonal passes for individual children 12 years and under cost $25; for people 13-64 years, $100; and seniors 65 years old and above, $40.
Any child who is a Bayonne resident can present a Bayonne school ID and will be charged the regular admission fee. Anyone with a current driver’s license or non-driver motor vehicle ID card that shows a Bayonne address will be admitted for $5.
Important information regarding entry into the 16th Street Pool.
*** IMPORTANT *** Only Bayonne residents will be permitted into the pool. Out of town guests are PROHIBITED. The admission booth will be checking every Bayonne ID at the front entrance. You must have a current Drivers License with a Bayonne address, a Bayonne School ID, or a City of Bayonne resident ID Card to get into the pool. No other form of residency will be accepted. There will be no exceptions. Pool staff WILL STRICTLY enforce this policy.***
Hours of Operation:
Friday, June 25th – Friday, August 13th
The pool will be closed to the public on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., to allow City Day Camps access.
The pool will open at 1:00.p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays and close at 6:00pm.
The pool will open 10:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., on Sundays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays
Saturday, August 14th – Monday, September 6th
The pool will open 10:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Sunday through Saturday.
Only Bayonne residents are permitted into the pool. Out of town guests are prohibited.
After-hour parties will only be available to BAYONNE non-profit organizations for use. Availability will be limited. Private parties are prohibited.
Birthday Parties: Parties are limited to two hours. Party Hours: 10:30am to 12:30pm, 1:00pm to 3:00pm, and 3:30pm to 5:30pm. Availability will be limited. You may reserve a time slot by calling the pool at 201-858-6159.
Senior Swim: Tuesdays & Thursdays, 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

Any Bayonne resident who does not possess a City of Bayonne ID will be charged $5, if he or she can provide proof of Bayonne residency.
The pool will be shut down in the event of inclement weather. Pool patrons can confirm pool closings by calling the Recreation hotline at 201-471-7590, or by visiting the Recreation Division website at www.bayonnerec.com, or by visiting the City of Bayonne’s Facebook page.
For safety reasons, please note that no flotation devices are allowed in the pool. That means, the City of Bayonne does not allow pool patrons to wear swimmies, tubes, puddle jumpers, or similar products.
