The Bayonne Recreation Division Announces the 2026 Summer Sounds by the Bay Music Concert Series
Posted June 15, 2026Pete Amadeo, Bayonne’s Superintendent of Recreation, announced the schedule for the Summer Sounds by the Bay Concert series for Summer 2026. Amadeo said, “For over 30 years, Summer Sounds by the Bay has been a town favorite in the park during the summer! Great music in a great setting!” Amadeo continued, “The Summer Sounds by the Bay is one of the great highlights of the year. The community feel in the greatest setting at DiDomenico-16th Street Park is what makes Bayonne so special. We have a great lineup of music, and we are looking forward to seeing everyone enjoying the summer nights!”
The concerts will begin promptly at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday nights at the lower level of DiDomenico-16th Street Park at the amphitheater stage. The performances will take place weather permitting. Here is the concert schedule for Summer 2026:
June 24th – Midnight Rock Show: Get ready to step into a full-throttle time machine and relive the most electrifying decade in music history with the 1970’s Midnight Rock Show—an authentic, high-powered spectacle that brings the golden age of arena rock roaring back to life. This isn’t just a tribute band; it’s a living, breathing time capsule, delivering every soaring vocal, dual-guitar thunderclap, and theatrical flourish with the same raw power that defined legends like Boston, Zep, Styx, Queen, Pink Floyd and all the radio hits in between. With no backing tracks, no gimmicks, vintage instruments, and a full laser light show, the experience is pure, unfiltered rock ’n’ roll—the way it was meant to be. Every performance is a larger-than-life musical journey that transports audiences straight into the heart of the 1970’s, where the sound was massive, the energy unstoppable, and the show unforgettable.
July 8th – AM GOLD: AM GOLD is a New York City-based tribute band, performing the adult-contemporary hit songs from the late 1970’s through the mid 1980’s. Artists covered include Hall & Oates, Steely Dan, Huey Lewis, Christopher Cross, Lionel Richie and so many more! This smooth style of music has stood the test of time. Baby Come Back!
July 15 – Iconic Women of Rock: The show is a high-energy, electrifying tribute to legendary female artists, featuring a dynamic, genre-spanning setlist that captivates audiences of all ages and leaves them singing along every time. It’s a celebration of strong, trailblazing women—a message that Rae, the band’s lead singer, is passionate about sharing, especially with young girls navigating today’s challenging world. The band will perform the Top 40’s, Yacht Rock, R&B and Motown in a night of dancing and singing! Be ready for a memorable night!
July 22 – Suit & Mai Tai: Suit & Mai Tai truly captures the essence of the smooth sounds of the ‘60’s and ‘70’s. Their carefully-curated selection of classic tunes will have audiences dancing and singing along, creating an electric atmosphere that keeps everyone engaged with their impressive lineup of talented musicians and unmatched harmonic excellence, Suit & Mai Tai stands out as one of the premier bands in New Jersey.
July 29th - Amish Outlaws: The Amish Outlaws are an American cover band from Lancaster, Pennsylvania. The band was formed in 2002 and is composed of three ex- Amish and three “honorary Amish” musicians. They originally began playing in a band for fun and eventually decided to become The Amish Outlaws to make a living from it. This rocking band will provide a great evening of entertainment.
August 5th – The Fireflies: The Fireflies were an American doo-wop group from Long Island, New York, from the late 1950’s to early 1960’s. They were one of the first groups in which all band members both sang and played instruments. In addition, they were the first all-white vocal harmonizing group to appear at The Apollo Theater. Their big hit "You Were Mine” made the Billboard Hot 100. The original group disbanded in 1967. Later, Paul Giacalone, an original band member, recruited musicians to become new Fireflies.
August 12th – Hazzard County: Hazzard County is a six-piece, high-energy Modern Country party band known for their dynamic performances, tight musicianship, and undeniable stage presence. Blending today’s country hits with a rock edge and their own unique twist, this Connecticut-based group has kept the same six original members since inception—seasoned musicians whose chemistry and charisma have made Hazzard County one of New England’s must-see live acts.
August 19th – Super Trans AM: Super Trans AM is a unique and innovative theme band, playing all of your favorite arena anthems and chart-topping radio hits of the 1970’s. Super Trans AM combines unparalleled musicianship with artistic and inspired A/V production. You’ll enjoy revisiting classic singalongs from one of the most definable decades in American history. The band will perform masterworks from icons such as The Eagles, Hall & Oates, Queen, The Doobie Brothers, Paul McCartney & Wings, Peter Frampton, Foreigner, Kiss, Boston and Journey as well as “Yacht Rock” favorites such as “Still the One” by Orleans and Pilot’s “Magic.” The audience will fall in love with this epic decade of memorable music all over again.
August 26th – Rain date: The Recreation Division will hold this date in reserve, in case a rained-out concert might need to be rescheduled.
