Veolia Project on Avenue E
Posted May 05, 2026Bayonne | Water Main Replacement – Avenue E | May 2026
Veolia, in coordination with the City of Bayonne and municipal partners, is replacing sections of the 30‑inch water main on Avenue E, including associated valve upgrades. This major infrastructure project is designed to strengthen long‑term system reliability.
Traffic impacts will occur on Avenue E between 22nd–24th Streets and 31st–33rd Streets.
At this time, no water service interruptions are planned. Residents in the surrounding area may experience temporary pressure fluctuations or slight discoloration due to naturally occurring sediment. If discoloration occurs, residents should run cold water until it clears before resuming normal use.
Construction began on Monday, May 4, and is expected to continue through mid‑ to late‑June. Additional updates will be provided as work progresses. Please continue to monitor the City’s website and official social media channels for ongoing updates.
