Juan Garcia Named Grand Marshal of the 2026 Memorial Day Parade

Juan Garcia is presently a life member of the Marine Corp League / American Legion / VFW / DAV.
Juan Is presently the commandant of the Marine Corp League det 191 in Bayonne and Commander of the American Legion post 470 He is also a past county commander district commandant for the Northeast district on NJ.
Juan enlisted in the Marine corps in 1981 attended heavy artillery school in camp Lejeune, NC. He is a Beirut Lebanon / Grenada veteran and was awarded the Navy unit citation, Marine Corp Expeditionary Ribbon Sea service citation and deployment ribbon Combat action metal, good conduct metal and was honorably discharged from the Marine Corp holding the rank of E5 Sergeant.
As a civilian, has received the distinguished service medal award from the state of NJ and several state recognitions. He also holds a certificate degree in international trade and commerce from PACE university in New York. Juan is very active with helping fellow veterans and assisting hospitalized veterans in homes around New jersey like Menlo Park, Lyons Hospital, East Orange with Bingo & pizza parties, BBQ and donation with needed items for the hospital to distribute as needed by the veterans.
Future goals are to continue to help and mentor the younger veteran community.
Bayonne’s Memorial Day Parade is Set for Monday, May 25th!
The Bayonne Memorial Day Parade will take place on Memorial Day, Monday, May 25, 2026. Since 2022, the City of Bayonne has worked in conjunction with the veterans of the Memorial Day Parade Committee to organize the parade.
There will be a ceremony at the traditional start of the parade on Memorial Day, Monday, May 25, at 10:00 a.m., at Fifth Street by the World War I Monument. Immediately after the ceremony, the march will begin at 5th Street and will proceed up Broadway. It will pass the reviewing stand in front of American Legion Post 19 and will end at 32nd Street and Broadway.
