Urban Enterprise Zone Christmas Tree-Lighting Ceremony Set for Tuesday, November 25, on Broadway
Posted November 17, 2025On Tuesday, November 25, at 5:30 p.m., the annual Bayonne Urban Enterprise Zone/Special Improvement District (UEZ/SID) Christmas Tree-Lighting kicks off the Bayonne holiday season. Mayor Jimmy Davis said, “This special ceremony will show the Bayonne community’s engagement and promote awareness of our amazing businesses.” UEZ Coordinator Jacqueline Farber said, “As the holiday season approaches, the UEZ is happy to remind everyone that Bayonne is a wonderful place to shop and work.”
Located at Lance Corporal Stanley Kopcinski Park and on Broadway from 19th to 21st Streets, this year’s tree lighting will begin with live musical performances from The Artists’ Avenue, the Bayonne High School Jazz Band, the Kids’ Piano Studio, and the Robinson School Band. The concert will culminate with the arrival of Santa to light the tree. Free photos with Santa by Stephanie Petersen Photography (196 Broadway) will be taken until 7:00 p.m. The photos will be made available on the Bayonne UEZ Facebook page for retrieval. Santa will provide each child with a gift, thanks to the generosity of Second Ward Councilwoman Jacqueline Weimmer. The UEZ will provide free cocoa and cookies from Double Batch Bakery (1102 Avenue C) throughout, while supplies last, as well as free trackless train trips, and rides on a mechanical reindeer.
Make sure to pick up the Bayonne UEZ’s 2025 Holiday Gift Guide to help you find the perfect present for everyone on your list, right here in Bayonne. The UEZ is honored and delighted to provide this tradition each year.
Kopcinski Park is an outdoor special events space that is located on Broadway, in front of the 19 East apartment building. A stage will be set up across Broadway from the park. For the ceremony, Broadway will be closed to traffic from 19th Street (Vinny Bottino Way) to 20th Street. No Parking signs will be posted from 19th Street to 20th Street on both sides of Broadway.
Mayor Davis concluded, “The City of Bayonne and the UEZ would like to invite our residents to come to this fun event that kicks off the local Christmas season. We look forward to seeing you on Broadway on Tuesday, November 25.”
