TRAFFIC ALERT for Friday 6/6
Posted June 04, 2025This traffic alert is being issued for Friday, June 6, 2025. Due to numerous large-scale events, a TRAFFIC ALERT is being issued to advise residents of potential travel issues.
The funeral for Hudson County Sheriff’s Detective Justin Rivera, who died while on duty last week will occur Friday morning at Migliaccio Funeral Home, 851 JFK Blvd. This funeral will bring a large-scale presence into Bayonne. JFK Blvd between 31st Street and Hudson County Park, along with associated side streets, will be a FROZEN ZONE beginning at 7am. Any residents who live on JFK Blvd and side streets in this zone will have limited or no access to their driveways. Please plan accordingly. Traffic is expected to be very heavy between 7am and 1pm. Please avoid this area. There will also be a funeral procession that will travel throughout Bayonne. Please be patient as this procession drives through the city.
The Bayonne Muslims will be holding their annual EID Festival at 16th Street Park from 8am to 11am. During this time, traffic in/around the 16th Street Park area will be severely limited. Please avoid this area during these hours.
Nicholas Oresko School will be holding their field day throughout the day. This will impact traffic in/around Oresko School and Gregg Lane Park.
The Bayonne Police Department has canceled all ongoing roadwork throughout the city on Friday to alleviate traffic pressures.
