CITY OF BAYONNE HOLIDAY CLOSING SUMMARY FOR THE CHRISTMAS/NEW YEAR’S PERIOD, 2024-2025

Civilian offices at City Hall: Closed Tuesday, December 24; Wednesday, December 25; Tuesday, December 31; and Wednesday, January 1.

Garbage in Zone 1*: The Garbage schedule for Christmas Day, Wednesday, December 25, is as follows: Garbage in Zone 1* will be put out as usual on Wednesday night.  However, it will be picked up on Thursday morning, December 26, rather than during Wednesday night.Recycling in Zone 1*: There will be NO Recycling in Zone 1* on Christmas Eve, Tuesday, December 24.

On New Year’s Eve, Tuesday, December 31, there will be NO recycling in Zone 1.* We ask that you please hold on to your recycling until your next collection day.

Recycling in Zone 2*: There will be NO recycling in Zone 2* on Christmas Day, Wednesday, December 25.

There will be NO recycling in Zone 2* on New Year’s Day, Wednesday, January 1. We ask that you please hold on to your recycling until your next collection day.

Garbage and Recycling in Zone 3*: Garbage and recycling schedules will remain the same as usual during the holidays.

Street-sweeping and alternate side parking: Suspended Tuesday, December 24; Wednesday, December 25; Tuesday, December 31, and Wednesday, January 1.  Note: Street-sweeping and alternate side parking are often suspended in winter anyway, due to snow and ice on the streets.

Parking permit zone enforcement: Suspended on Tuesday, December 24; Wednesday, December 25; Tuesday, December 31; and Wednesday, January 1.

On-street parking meters: Enforcement suspended on Tuesday, December 24; Wednesday, December 25; Tuesday, December 31; and Wednesday, January 1. On-street parking meters will be enforced the other days of the week that they are normally in effect, unless snow and ice make it impractical.

Free parking for four hours in Parking Utility lots: Will be in effect for non-commercial vehicles for the month of December.  Total enforcement of pay stations at Parking Utility lots for non-commercial vehicles will resume on Thursday, January 2.  Pay station enforcement will be suspended completely for all vehicles on December 24, 25, and 31, and on January 1.
