The Bayonne Police Department held a promotions ceremony recently for twenty-three police officers in the City Council Chambers before an audience of more than 250.  Nearly forty police retirements in the past year created a need for promotions to refill the ranks of the department’s superior officers.  At the ceremony, one new captain, five new lieutenants, and seventeen new sergeants took the oath of office from City Clerk Madelene Medina.  In order to be promoted, the officers had to pass competitive examinations administered by the New Jersey Civil Service Commission.

The new Captain is Craig Largmann.  The five new lieutenants are Kelly McKeand, Ashley Munoz, Mark Fabbricatore, Timothy Donaway, and Steven Rhodes.  The new sergeants are Mark Oleksa, Melissa Morales, Matthew Cannella, Christopher Styles, Karol Kruczyk, Kenneth Drago, Sean Gaeta, Wayne Colegrove, Jr., Jason Arnone, Connor Glover, Timothy May, Roman Popowski, Jr., John Lobue, Juan Villegas, Alan Elawady, Raffael Ocasio III, and Ryan Maloney.
