The State of New Jersey, in partnership with the New Jersey Division of Elections, is calling on residents to serve as poll workers for the upcoming General Election on Tuesday, November 5, 2024. By becoming a poll worker, you play a vital role in ensuring our elections are safe, simple, and secure.

Why Should You Apply?

Who Can Apply?

To be eligible to serve as a poll worker in New Jersey, you must:

  • Be a registered voter in New Jersey.
  • Be at least 16 years old (Note: 16 and 17-year-olds can apply as Student Poll Workers with parental consent, but they are not required to be registered voters).
  • Attend a mandatory poll worker training session.
  • Have no criminal conviction for any offense related to the elections process.

What Does the Role Involve?

  • Commitment: Work from 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM on Election Day.
  • Responsibilities: Assist voters and ensure a smooth election process.
  • Hours: Polling place hours are subject to change depending on location.
