New Service: Recording Notification Service (RNS)

Posted July 09, 2024

The Hudson County Register Office is pleased to announce that they are now offering a new FREE service to Hudson County property owners. Customers who wish to be notified any time a document is recorded against their property(ies) will be able to sign up for this service.

With property and mortgage fraud on the rise, this notification service will help protect property owners against potential fraud and scams giving property owners the  peace of mind that they need. The RNS system will provide an automated email alert with recording details anytime a document is recorded using the name(s), address(es), lot, block, and municipality name that have been registered for this alert service.

“I am pleased that we can offer this free and important service to Hudson County property owners. This notification service is key to early detection of potential public  record fraud.” said Jeffrey Dublin, the County Register. He expressed to be committed to making the changes necessary in the office to modernize operations in the interest of convenience and offering the best customer service for taxpayers.

A sign-up tab for this free service is integrated on the office website. Property owners can visit the Hudson County Register Office website, find the “RNS” tab under  “Services” read the details and follow the instructions for signing up. To register, property owners will need their name, email address and information for the property  they wish to register such as municipality, lot, and block. Registered individuals can unsubscribe from this service at any time.
