Chief Geisler, along with members of the Bayonne Police Department, visited Bayonne Energy for a demonstration of their two K9 teams, Officer Christopher Lennon with K9 Ranger and Officer Kevin Baranok with K9 Thor. Bayonne Energy, working with The Guardian Foundation, graciously made a donation in 2023 for the purchase and training of K9 Thor, a German Sheppard. After extensive training, Officer Kevin Baranok and K9 Thor successfully completed the narcotics detection and suspect  apprehension certification requirements. K9 Thor and K9 Ranger displayed their obedience, narcotics detection, and suspect apprehension skills for the Bayonne Energy  team. Bayonne Energy team members had the opportunity to interact with K9 Thor and were educated on the capabilities and training that K9s and handlers go through  before they are deployed on the street.

Bayonne Energy has been a long-time supporter of the Bayonne Police Department and has donated life-saving ballistic and training equipment to the Department. They  are also a regular sponsor of the yearly Bayonne Police Department "Shop with a Cop" program.

The Guardian Foundation is a non-profit 501 (c)3 organization that was founded by Bayonne Police Captain Carlos Betancourth 8 years ago. The Guardian Foundation partners with local businesses in order to support law enforcement agencies in New Jersey with needed equipment. The Guardian Foundation also partners with local community organizations for special events, such as the annual "Shop with a Cop" program.

Chief Robert Geisler states, "I would like to thank Captain Carlos Betancourth, The Guardian Foundation and Bayonne Energy for their continued support of the men and women of the Bayonne Police Department. Through their generous donations, the Department is now better equipped to protect our officers and community. Also due to their generous donations, many children in our community are treated to holiday gifts at the annual "Shop with a Cop" event at Walmart during the holiday season. The Bayonne Police Department is proud to partner with Bayonne Energy and The Guardian Foundation to improve the quality of life in the City of Bayonne."
