Ribbon-Cutting at New Carmelo Bakery

Ribbon-cutting at new Carmelo Bakery:  City Council President Gary LaPelusa, City Council Member At-Large Juan Perez,First Ward Council Member Neil Carroll III, and Mayor Jimmy Davis joined members of the Pereira family at the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the opening of the Carmelo Bakery at 27th Street and Broadway.  The owners of the bakery came to Bayonne from Uruguay and Argentina.  The business makes South American treats.  The products include pastries, torts, cakes, cookies, small pizzas, sandwiches, and Colombian coffee.  The name Carmelo comes from a bridge in Uruguay.
