Notice of Public Hearing on Improvements at Mayor G. Thomas DiDomenico Park (16th Street Park)

PURPOSE: The City of Bayonne is seeking funding through the State of NJ Green Acres Program for improvements at the Mayor G. Thomas DiDomenico Park (16th Street Park) located at 375-409 Avenue A and the intersection of Avenue A and W 16th Street in the City of Bayonne, NJ, 07002.

PROJECT SCOPE: The City of Bayonne proposes to renovate the following facilities at Mayor G. Thomas DiDomenico Park: expansion of the boardwalk, two street end access ramps, Spartina/beach grass plantings, fishing pier, supplemental shoreline stabilization, boat ramp reconstruction, and a waterfront walkway. A concept plan showing the proposed changes, a preliminary cost estimate, and an environmental impact assessment can be found at: https://www.bayonnenj.org/

PUBLIC HEARING INFORMATION: The public is encouraged to attend a public hearing to learn more about the proposal and to ask questions or provide comments on the proposed plan on Wednesday, February 7th, 2024 at 6:00 PM. The meeting will be held in person at City Hall, 630 Avenue C, Bayonne, NJ 07002. Written comments on the proposed application and requests for a hard copy of the application package may be directed to Suzanne Mack, City Planner, smack@baynj.com, 630 Avenue C, Bayonne, NJ, 07002.

The City Council has a previously scheduled municipal caucus meeting at 6:00 PM. The public hearing will NOT be part of that caucus meeting and, instead, the City Council has called for and will convene a Special Meeting of the Municipal Council at 6:00 PM to take action on this application. No other business will be considered at this Special Meeting.
