Bayonne Fire Department Has New 2023 Rescue Pumper
Posted October 25, 2023Mayor Jimmy Davis and Fire Chief Keith Weaver announced that the Bayonne Fire Department has acquired a new 2023 Rescue Pumper. The fire-fighting vehicle was manufactured by Spartan Emergency Response. It replaces a 2005 pumper that wore down during eighteen years of service. Mayor Davis said, “I would like to commend the Bayonne Fire Department for upgrading its vehicle fleet and improving fire protection for the people of our community.” Fire Chief Weaver said, “I would like to thank Mayor Davis and the City Council for supporting the acquisition of this important new pumper for the department. It represents a major gain for energy efficiency and 21st century technology.”
The pumper has been assigned to the Fire Department’s Squad 5 at Fire Station 5 on Chosin Few Way. That building is located at the former Military Ocean Terminal.
