The Division of Recreation is introducing, “The Breakfast Club,” a club for children and young adults, ages 12 and older, who may have anxiety socially.

The Club is named after the movie, the Breakfast Club. “The central messages of the film are, as I’ve come to see that the film is an allegory not just for friendship across peer groups in, but for the nature of friendship in general, one’s own personal and social identity, the various facets, and tensions of our inner psychology, and more. - Zachary Fruhling - Philosopher & Author.

The Club will include various activities and events that will help engage one another in a safe and beneficial environment.

Activities include, but not limited to: Bowling with the Bayonne Police & Fire Departments, Karaoke Night, Paint Night, Archery Night , Pizza Nights, Field Trips which may include, but not limited to, Ax Throwing, Top Golf, Supercharge Indoor Go-Carting. We also will participate in “My first Mud Run.”

“We are motivated to provide high quality recreation for all segments of our community. The Breakfast Club will be a program that will help with social settings and to build friendships. We will engage in many team building activities and believe this program will be successful in many ways.” Stated Pete Amadeo, Superintendent of Recreation

The program is scheduled to begin in late fall. The Division of Recreation will announce additional details in September.
