Posted September 29, 2022Division of Recreation to Start a New Bayonne Thanksgiving Day Tradition! The Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot 5K and 1 Mile Kids’ Fun Run!
Mayor Jimmy Davis, the Division of Recreation, the City of Bayonne and BCB Bank is excited to announce a new Bayonne Thanksgiving Day Tradition – The Bayonne Turkey Trot 5K and 1 Mile Kids’ Fun Run!
The Turkey Trot 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run will take place on Thanksgiving Day morning, at 9:00am (Fun Run) 9:30am (5K), at Hudson County Park.
“Bayonne had an incredible Thanksgiving Day tradition with the Bayonne vs. Marist Football Game. It was a tradition like no other. That tradition will never be matched; however, we are hoping our Turkey Trot and Fun Run will begin a new Thanksgiving Day tradition for families and friends in Bayonne," stated Pete Amadeo, Superintendent of Recreation.

- Register by October 9th for the early registration fee: $20 for the 5K and $10 for the 1 Mile Fun Run.
- After October 9th, registration fee increases to $25.00 for the 5K.
- Register early to ensure you will receive a long sleeve Turkey Trot 5K and Fun Run t-shirt.
- The Turkey Trot 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run will be organized by race director, Elvi Guzman of Winning Events Group. Winning Events Group has been conducting races & events, since 2013, in several neighboring cities.
- Proceeds from the event will support the Division of Recreation Special Needs Sports Program & Division of Recreation Ability Day Program. Winning Events Group will also be making a donation to a special cause.
