For the week of June 24 to 30, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey encourages all travelers who use the agency’s facilities to plan ahead and consider additional travel time due to the lane closures or service changes detailed below.
LANE CLOSURES IN EFFECT
George Washington Bridge:
- From 11 p.m. Friday, June 24, to 8 a.m. Saturday, June 25, one eastbound lane on the upper level will be closed.
- From 11 p.m. Friday, June 24, to 8 a.m. Saturday, June 25, two eastbound lanes on the upper level Trans-Manhattan Expressway will be closed. New York-bound motorists can use the lower level.
- On Friday, June 24, and again on Saturday, June 25, from 11 p.m. each night to 8 a.m. the following morning, three westbound lanes on the upper level will be closed. New Jersey-bound motorists can use the lower level.
- On Friday, June 24, and again on Saturday, June 25, from 11 p.m. each night to 8 a.m. the following morning, two westbound lanes on the upper level Trans-Manhattan Expressway will be closed. New Jersey-bound motorists can use the lower level.
- On Friday, June 24, and again on Saturday, June 25, from 11 p.m. each night to 8 a.m. the following morning, the 179th Street ramp will be closed. New Jersey-bound motorists can use the lower level.
- On Friday, June 24, and again on Saturday, June 25, from 11 p.m. each night to 8 a.m. the following morning, the ramp from the northbound Henry Hudson Parkway to westbound lanes on the upper level will be closed. New Jersey-bound motorists can use the lower level.
- From 11 p.m. Friday, June 24, to 8 a.m. Saturday, June 25, the ramp from the northbound Palisades Interstate Parkway to westbound lanes on the upper level will be closed. New Jersey-bound motorists can use the lower level.
- On Saturday, June 25, from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. one eastbound lane on the lower level will be closed.
- On Saturday, June 25, from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. one westbound lane on the upper level will be closed.
- From 11 p.m. Saturday, June 25, to 8 a.m. Sunday, June 26, three eastbound lanes on the upper level will be closed. New York-bound motorists can use the lower level.
- From 11 p.m. Saturday, June 25, to 9 a.m. Sunday, June 26, the ramp from the northbound Palisades Interstate Parkway to westbound lanes on the upper level will be closed. New Jersey-bound motorists can use the lower level.
- From 11 p.m. Saturday, June 25, to 9 a.m. Sunday, June 26, two eastbound lanes on the upper level Trans-Manhattan Expressway will be closed. New York-bound motorists can use the lower level.
- From 11 p.m. Saturday, June 25, to 9 a.m. Sunday, June 26, the ramp from the southbound Palisades Interstate Parkway to eastbound lanes on the upper level will be closed. New York-bound motorists can exit at Hudson Terrace.
Holland Tunnel:
- From 11 p.m. Friday, June 24, to 8 a.m. Saturday, June 25, the New York-bound tube of the Holland Tunnel will be closed due to ongoing Superstorm Sandy-related repairs. The New Jersey-bound tube remains open at all times during work.
- On Sunday, June 26, from 11 p.m. through 5 a.m. the following morning, and on multiple overnights through fall 2022, the New York-bound tube of the Holland Tunnel will be closed due to ongoing Superstorm Sandy-related repairs. - From Sunday, June 26, through Thursday, June 30, from 11:59 p.m. each night to 5:30 a.m. the following morning, one westbound lane will be closed.
Bayonne Bridge:
- From Monday, June 27, through Thursday, June 30, from 9 p.m. each night to 5 a.m. the following morning, one lane on the New Jersey Route 440 northbound ramp over JFK Boulevard will be closed.
Goethals Bridge:
- From 9 p.m. Wednesday, June 29, to 5 a.m. Thursday, June 30, one eastbound lane will be closed.
- From 9 p.m. Thursday, June 30, to 5 a.m. Friday, July 1, one westbound lane will be closed.
Outerbridge Crossing:
- From 9 p.m. Wednesday, June 29, to 5 a.m. Thursday, June 30, one westbound lane will be closed.
- From 9 p.m. Thursday, June 30, to 5 a.m. Friday, July 1, one eastbound lane will be closed.
AIRPORTS & AIRTRAIN
- LaGuardia Link Q70 bus service is now fare free year-round to encourage the use of public transit to and from LaGuardia Airport. For details on New York Gov. - From 8 p.m. Saturday, June 25, to 7 a.m. Sunday, June 26, AirTrain EWR will be suspended for routine maintenance. Free shuttle buses provide alternate service between Newark Airport Station (Rail Link), terminals A, B, C, and stations P3 and P4 (the parking lot/rental car stations).
- Ongoing construction on the Grand Central Parkway near LaGuardia Airport will require alternating lane closures on the eastbound and westbound Grand Central Parkway to accommodate the demolition of the old Central Terminal Building flyover/exit 7. During the following hours, up to two lanes in both directions in the vicinity of the airport will be closed:
- From 10 p.m. Friday, June 24, to 8 a.m. Saturday, June 25, two eastbound lanes on the Grand Central Parkway will be closed.
- From 10 p.m. Friday, June 24, to 8 a.m. Saturday, June 25, two westbound lanes on the Grand Central Parkway will be closed.
- From 10 p.m. Saturday, June 25, to 10 a.m. Sunday, June 26, two eastbound lanes on the Grand Central Parkway will be closed.
- From 11 p.m. Saturday, June 25, to 9 a.m. Sunday, June 26, two westbound lanes on the Grand Central Parkway will be closed.
- Starting at 12:01 a.m. Friday, July 8, John F. Kennedy International Airport’s Green Garage and AirTrain JFK’s Terminal 2 station will be closed for demolition activities associated with the construction of JFK’s new Terminal One. AirTrain JFK service to Terminal 2 will be discontinued. The Green Garage exit will remain open for two additional weeks to allow motorists who parked before July 8 to exit the garage prior to the start of demolition activities.
- For access to Terminal 2 via AirTrain, customers should use the Terminal 1 station. Signage will direct customers to and from Terminal 1 station along a covered walkway between Terminals 1 and 2 on the arrivals level. Service to all other airport terminals will not be affected on both the Howard Beach and Jamaica lines. - Motorists going to Terminals 1 or 2 who wish to park will be directed to Red Garage, which is adjacent to Terminal 8. Signage and personnel will direct those motorists who parked at the Red Garage how to access Terminals 1 and 2 via AirTrain JFK.
PATH
- The southwest entrance to the PATH Harrison station is closed at all hours to accommodate demolition work ahead of a renovation of the station. During construction, riders are required to use traffic signal pedestrian crossings at Angelo Cifelli Drive and Guyon Drive to access a corresponding station house on the opposite side of Frank E. Rodgers Boulevard.
- Customers who use the WTC PATH station during overnights should use the street level entrances at Fulton Street or Vesey Street via the North Concourse in the 2 World Trade Center Transit Lobby. Oculus access is limited overnight from 1 a.m. to 5 a.m. to allow for enhanced cleaning and the safety and security of customers due to reduced traffic volumes. All other entrances will be closed. - As a reminder, the 9 Street and 23 Street stations are closed from each midnight to 5 a.m. for maintenance. Nearby PATH stations at Christopher Street, 14 Street and 33 Street remain open 24 hours a day unless otherwise noted.

COVID-19 TRAVEL RESTRICTIONS
- The Port Authority will continue to follow the guidance of the New York and New Jersey public health authorities with respect to mask mandates at its public transportation facilities.
Per current New York public health guidance, the mask mandate remains in effect for the following New York facilities:
- Port Authority Midtown Bus Terminal
- George Washington Bridge Bus Station
- World Trade Center Oculus Transportation Hub
- LaGuardia Airport
- John F. Kennedy International Airport
- New York Stewart International Airport
Per newly issued New Jersey public health guidance, the mask mandate has been lifted for the following New Jersey facilities, but masks are now optional and welcome for all who choose to wear them:
- Newark Liberty International Airport
- Teterboro Airport
The mask mandate remains in effect for the interstate PATH system (including stations and platforms with the exception of open-air platforms).
