PORT AUTHORITY BRIDGES, TUNNELS & RAIL ADVISORY FOR FEBRUARY 11 TO 17
Posted February 11, 2022Lane Closures Planned This Week at the George Washington Bridge, Holland Tunnel, Lincoln Tunnel, Bayonne Bridge and Outerbridge Crossing
Face Coverings Continue to be Required in All Port Authority Facilities Including Airports, Midtown Bus Terminal and AirTrain
For the week of February 11 to 17, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey encourages all travelers who use the agency’s facilities to plan ahead and consider additional travel time due to the lane closures or service changes detailed below.
LANE CLOSURES IN EFFECT
George Washington Bridge:
- From 10 p.m. Friday, February 11, to 10 a.m. Saturday, February 12, all lanes on the lower level will be closed in both directions. Motorists should use the upper level.
- From 11:59 p.m. Friday, February 11, to 8 a.m. Saturday, February 12, the ramp from westbound lanes on the upper level to the northbound Palisades Interstate Parkway will be closed. Motorists can exit at Hudson Terrace.
- From 11:59 p.m. Friday, February 11, to 8 a.m. Saturday, February 12, the ramp from the northbound Henry Hudson Parkway to eastbound lanes on the lower level Trans-Manhattan Expressway will be closed. Motorists can exit 178th Street.
- On Saturday, February 12, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. one westbound lane on the upper level to the northbound Palisades Interstate Parkway will be closed.
Holland Tunnel:
- From 11 p.m. Friday, February 11, to 8 a.m. Saturday, February 12, the New York-bound tube of the Holland Tunnel will be closed due to ongoing Superstorm Sandy-related repairs. The New Jersey-bound tube remains open at all times during work.
- On Sunday, February 13, from 11 p.m. through 5 a.m. the following morning, and on multiple overnights through fall 2022, the New York-bound tube of the Holland Tunnel will be closed due to ongoing Superstorm Sandy-related repairs. - From Sunday, February 13, through Thursday, February 17, from 11:59 p.m. each night through 5:30 a.m. the following morning, one westbound lane will be closed.
Lincoln Tunnel:
- From 11 p.m. Friday, February 11, to 6:30 a.m. Saturday, February 12, the center tube will be closed. New York-bound traffic in the south tube and New Jersey-bound traffic in the north tube will not be affected.
- From 6:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. each day on both Saturday and Sunday, February 11 and 12, one access ramp will remain closed. New York-bound traffic in the center and the south tubes and New Jersey-bound traffic in the north and center tubes will not be affected.
- From 11 p.m. Saturday, February 12, to 6:30 a.m. Sunday, February 13, the center tube will be closed. New York-bound traffic in the south tube and New Jersey-bound traffic in the north tube will not be affected.
Bayonne Bridge:
- From 10 p.m. Wednesday, February 16, to 5 a.m. Thursday, February 17, one southbound lane will be closed.
Outerbridge Crossing:
- From 10 p.m. Saturday, February 12, to 8 a.m. Sunday, February 13, one westbound lane will be closed.
- From 10 p.m. Monday, February 14, to 5 a.m. Tuesday, February 15, one eastbound lane will be closed.
- From 10 p.m. Tuesday, February 15, to 5 a.m. Wednesday, February 16, two toll lanes will be closed, restricting eastbound access to Exit 1 Page Avenue, Hylan Blvd. Please follow posted signs for detour directions.
PATH
- The southwest entrance to the PATH Harrison station is closed at all hours to accommodate demolition work ahead of a renovation of the station. During construction, riders are required to use traffic signal pedestrian crossings at Angelo Cifelli Drive and Guyon Drive to access a corresponding station house on the opposite side of Frank E. Rodgers Boulevard.
- Customers who use the WTC PATH station during overnights should use the street level entrances at Fulton Street or Vesey Street via the North Concourse in the 2 World Trade Center Transit Lobby. Oculus access is limited overnight from 1 a.m. to 5 a.m. to allow for enhanced cleaning and the safety and security of customers due to reduced traffic volumes. All other entrances will be closed. - As a reminder, the 9 Street and 23 Street stations are closed from each midnight to 5 a.m. for maintenance. Nearby PATH stations at Christopher Street, 14 Street and 33 Street remain open 24 hours a day unless otherwise noted.

COVID-19 TRAVEL RESTRICTIONS
- As a reminder for any passengers or motorists traveling through Port Authority facilities, some restrictions and service changes remain in place to protect the health and safety of employees and the public. Face coverings continue to be required for anyone using Port Authority facilities, including PATH trains and indoor PATH stations; the World Trade Center transportation hub; the Midtown Bus Terminal and George Washington Bridge Bus Station; the Port Authority’s airports and on both AirTrain JFK and AirTrain Newark.
- In accordance with updated U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines, masks are not required while waiting for trains on outdoor platforms at the following PATH stations only: Newark Penn, Harrison and Journal Square. Masks must continue to be worn at all other stations and while on PATH trains.
- Domestic travelers entering New York or New Jersey should follow CDC guidance here.
