The Law Department protects the legal interests of the City and assists other municipal departments in achieving the City's goals and objectives.

The Law Department represents the City of Bayonne as a public entity and is not permitted to give legal advice or counsel to individual members of the public in private legal matters. For such matters, members of the public may call the Hudson County Lawyer Referral Service at (201) 798-2727, or if they cannot afford the services of a private attorney they may call the Hudson County Legal Services at (201) 792-6363.
