The Building Department is committed to protecting the health, safety, and well-being of the public by enforcing the New Jersey Uniform Construction Code.

NOTIFYING THE BUILDING DEPARTMENT ABOUT EMERGENCY CONSTRUCTION ON WEEKENDS, HOLIDAYS, AND AFTER REGULAR BUSINESS HOURS

The Building Department has established a special email address for notifying the department about emergency jobs that need to be done when the office isn’t open.  That email address is Buildingdept@baynj.org.  Emergency work could include installing boilers or water heaters, just to give two examples.

In the emails, contractors should include their company name, address, phone number, and a description of the emergency construction work.  Contractors will have 72 hours to come to the Building Department to obtain the proper permits for the work.
