DiDomenico Municipal Pool

The municipality has the authority to close the pool in the event of inclement weather.

The DiDomenico Municipal Pool is located in the upper level of 16th Street Park. The pool is handicap accessible and also contains a concession stand and dressing rooms.

Although a limited number of lounge chairs are available free of charge, visitors are encouraged to bring their own.

For the swimmers safety, children less than four feet tall must be accompanied by a responsible adult in the main pool area.

The DiDomenico Municipal Pool is a SMOKE FREE facility.

NEW: Swimming Lessons for local youth, ages 4 to 14.

Each lesson will last for 40 minutes, once a week, for six (6) weeks.

Lessons will take place on Sundays from 9:30am to 10:15am or 10:30am to 11:15am; Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 5:30pm to 6:15pm or 6:30pm to 7:15pm.

Students will have the option of selecting one of the three days offered.

Four (4) lifeguards will be assigned for each lesson. There will be a 1 to 8 ratio of instructors to students.

The cost of the six-week program is $110.00 per student.

Swim Lessions

  • Swim lessons are currently offered at no charge for children on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 9:30 am to 10:15 am. The child must be able to stand unassisted in the shallow section of the main pool (4 feet deep) to participate.

Admission Fees

  • Children: 12 years and younger are $1.00
  • 13 years: 64 years: $3.00
  • Seniors (65 years and above): $1.00

Seasonal passes for families of four (including parents/guardians and children under age 17) are $200.00, and each additional child is $15.00. Seasonal passes for individual children 12 years and under cost $25.00. For individuals 13 years to 64 years is $100.00 and seniors 65 years and above is $40.00.

You must have a City of Bayonne I.D. in order to be admitted to the pool. Any Bayonne resident who does not possess a City of Bayonne I.D. will be charged $5.00. Any out-of-town guest of a Bayonne resident will be charged $10.00. City of Bayonne resident I.D.’s can be obtained at the Recreation Office in City Hall Room 13 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from noon until 4:00 pm and on Wednesdays from 4-8:00 pm. The fee for an I.D. is $5.00.

Identification Badges

All resdients who wish to use the 16th Street Pool, Lincoln Community School/Joseph G. Skutnick Pool, Bayonne High School COmmunity Education/Physical Education Center Track or Richard L. Korpi Ice Rink must have a Bayonne resident picture I.D. badge. Bayonne resident I.D. cards and golf course cards are issued at City Hall, 630 Avenue C, Room 13.

For Bayonne resident I.D. cards, applicants must bring at least two forms of identification with them, one of which must be a current telephone or PSE&G bill. Acceptable forms of identification include leases, driver’s licenses, non-driver I.D. cards from the Motor Vehicle Commission, and other valid documents. The Bayonne resident I.D. card is valid for entrance to the DiDomenico Pool at 16th Street, Skutnick Pool at Lincoln School, the ice skating rink, and running track.
