Mondays, 10:30
a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; Tuesdays, 10:30 a.m. to 7:00
p.m.; Wednesdays, 10:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.;
Thursdays, 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Fridays, Saturdays,
and Sundays, 10:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
The municipality has the authority to close the pool
in the event of inclement weather.
The
DiDomenico Municipal Pool is located in the upper
level of 16th Street Park. Pool is handicapped
accessible and also contains a concession stand, and
dressing rooms.
Although a limited number of lounge chairs are
available free of charge, visitors are encouraged to
bring their own.

For the
swimmers safety children less than 4 feet tall must
be accompanied by a responsible adult in the main
pool area.

Swim
Lessons
Swim lessons are
currently offered at no charge for children on
Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 9:30 a.m. to
10:15 a.m. The child must be able to stand
unassisted in the shallow section of the main pool (4'
deep) to participate.
Admission Fees
Some new pricing
and admissions policies are in effect for the pool
this season. For $200.00, Bayonne residential family
passes are available for a family of four, including
children through age 17. A family pass supplement
for each additional child is available for $15.00.
Individual seasonal passes are also available. For
Bayonne children under 12 years of age, a seasonal
pass costs $25.00. For Bayonne people from age 12 to
61, a seasonal pass costs $100.00. For Bayonne
seniors age 62 and up, a seasonal pass costs $40.00.
Passes will be available for purchase at the pool.
The pool continues the long-standing policy of
admitting Bayonne residents with residential ID
cards for the following prices: 50 cents a day for
children through age 12, $1.00 a day for people aged
13 through 61, and 75 cents a day for seniors over
the age of 62. If a Bayonne resident does not have a
residential ID card, but can prove Bayonne
residency, the admission cost is $5.00 for the day.
For a non-Bayonne resident who is the guest of a
Bayonne resident, the admission cost is $10.00 for
the day. Residential ID cards can be obtained at the
Bayonne Public Library at 31st Street and Avenue C.
Identification
Badges
All
residents who wish to use the 16th Street
Pool, Lincoln Community School/Joseph G.
Skutnick Pool, Bayonne High School Community
Education/Physical Education Center Track or
Richard L. Korpi Ice Rink must have a Bayonne
resident picture I.D. badge.
Bayonne resident ID cards and
golf course cards are issued at the Bayonne
Public Library at 31st Street and Avenue C.
The ID card operation has been moved from the
Ice Rink at the Bayonne High School-Board of
Education complex. The location at the
library is the circulation desk on the main
floor.
At the new location at the
library, there will be new hours for ID card
applicants. Those hours, which are effective
immediately, are: Mondays, Tuesdays, and
Wednesdays, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.;
Thursdays, from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.; and
Fridays, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. ID cards
will not be issued on days that the library is
closed for state or national holidays.
For Bayonne resident ID cards,
applicants must bring at least two forms of
identification with them, one of which must be
a current telephone or PSE&G bill. Acceptable
forms of identification include leases,
driver's licenses, non-driver ID cards from
the Motor Vehicle Commission, and other valid
documents. The resident ID card is free of
charge. The Bayonne resident ID card is valid
for entrance to the DiDomenico Municipal Pool
at 16th Street, Skutnick Pool at Lincoln
School, the skating rink, and running track.
There is no need to renew the cards from year
to year as long as the bearer remains a
Bayonne resident.
