The municipality has the authority to close the pool in the event of inclement weather.

The DiDomenico Municipal Pool is located in the upper level of 16th Street Park.  Pool is handicapped accessible and also contains a concession stand, and dressing rooms.

Although a limited number of lounge chairs are available free of charge, visitors are encouraged to bring their own.

For the swimmers safety children less than 4 feet tall must be accompanied by a responsible adult in the main pool area.

The DiDomenico Municipal Pool is a SMOKE FREE facility.

Swim Lessons

Swim lessons are currently offered at no charge for children on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 9:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m.  The child must be able to stand unassisted in the shallow section of the main pool (4' deep) to participate.

Admission Fees

Some new pricing and admissions policies are in effect for the pool this season. For $200.00, Bayonne residential family passes are available for a family of four, including children through age 17. A family pass supplement for each additional child is available for $15.00.

Individual seasonal passes are also available. For Bayonne children under 12 years of age, a seasonal pass costs $25.00. For Bayonne people from age 12 to 61, a seasonal pass costs $100.00. For Bayonne seniors age 62 and up, a seasonal pass costs $40.00. Passes will be available for purchase at the pool.

The pool continues the long-standing policy of admitting Bayonne residents with residential ID cards for the following prices: 50 cents a day for children through age 12, $1.00 a day for people aged 13 through 61, and 75 cents a day for seniors over the age of 62. If a Bayonne resident does not have a residential ID card, but can prove Bayonne residency, the admission cost is $5.00 for the day. For a non-Bayonne resident who is the guest of a Bayonne resident, the admission cost is $10.00 for the day. Residential ID cards can be obtained at the Bayonne Public Library at 31st Street and Avenue C.

Identification Badges

All residents who wish to use the 16th Street Pool, Lincoln Community School/Joseph G. Skutnick Pool, Bayonne High School Community Education/Physical Education Center Track or Richard L. Korpi Ice Rink must have a Bayonne resident picture I.D. badge. Bayonne resident ID cards and golf course cards are issued at the Bayonne Public Library at 31st Street and Avenue C. The ID card operation has been moved from the Ice Rink at the Bayonne High School-Board of Education complex.  The location at the library is the circulation desk on the main floor.

At the new location at the library, there will be new hours for ID card applicants. Those hours, which are effective immediately, are: Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; Thursdays, from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.; and Fridays, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. ID cards will not be issued on days that the library is closed for state or national holidays.

For Bayonne resident ID cards, applicants must bring at least two forms of identification with them, one of which must be a current telephone or PSE&G bill.  Acceptable forms of identification include leases, driver's licenses, non-driver ID cards from the Motor Vehicle Commission, and other valid documents.  The resident ID card is free of charge. The Bayonne resident ID card is valid for entrance to the DiDomenico Municipal Pool at 16th Street, Skutnick Pool at Lincoln School, the skating rink, and running track.  There is no need to renew the cards from year to year as long as the bearer remains a Bayonne resident.
