Repairs have been completed on the aqueduct in Kearny that carries water to Bayonne. On Sunday, January 18, the Bayonne water-sewer utility is resuming the use of the aqueduct and its normal water supply. The system is ending its use of the back-up water line that runs through Jersey City.
Mayor Jimmy Davis announced that the boil water advisory has been lifted for drinking water. Water samples taken yesterday in Bayonne were clean. Bayonne water consumers may now drink water without boiling it first.
