Documentary MaterialPublished and unpublished material related to Bayonne history will be collected and placed in the collection. Books, photographs, maps, correspondence, diaries, oral history interviews, blueprints and clippings are included. All items will be catalogued. ArchaeologyHistoric archaeological materials recovered within the boundaries of Bayonne will be maintained in the Society's collection. Only proper authorization and documentation may move archaeological material. Donations of archaeological material from locations in Bayonne may be considered if they have research value related to the history of the peninsula. The executive board will approve acceptance of such material. HistoricObjects and documentary materials related to the history of Bayonne that illustrate the city's historical themes will be collected subject to space and limitations for care and storage. Condition of the item will be considered. The Society will not accept items in poor condition unless restored at no expense to the society. PhotographsPhotographs of Bayonne constitute an important part of the historic material. They provide an invaluable documentary record of the city's landscape, living population and historic structure and activities. Professional and amateur photographs will be considered by the executive board. Methods of Acquisition:
Uses of CollectionApproved researchers, scholars, students, teachers interested in the history of Bayonne may study the collection by advance appointment only. Collections will also be used for both exhibits and other approved programs. Management Actions
