The Child Health Clinic, located at Bayonne Hospital, provides the following services to any resident of Bayonne, by appointment:

Limited dental care is available to school age children of Bayonne at the Bayonne Medical Center Clinic. Parent must contact school nurse, who will schedule the appointment.

The Bayonne Office on Aging, located at 630 Avenue C, offers the following services to senior citizens living in Bayonne age 60 & over:

  • Lectures on health related topics given to any school or organization in the community.

  • Literature available on health related issues.

  • Variety of activities and services dealing with health promotion and preventive medicine free to the community.

Issues certified copies of:

  • Birth Certificates (June 1920 to present)

  • Death Certificates (Jan. 1968 to present)

Burial permits are available for a fee.

Women-Infants-Children (WIC) - 858-6509

  • Provides nutritious foods and education to pregnant and breast feeding women, infants, and children up to the age of 5 who are considered to be at nutritional risk.

  • Nutrition education to eligible pregnant, breast feeding, and postpartum women.

The following licenses and permits are issued:

  • Cat and Dogs (Note: Fee is $10.00 for cats and dogs which have not been altered and $7.00 for those spayed or neutered with proof.  All cats and dogs must be inoculated against rabies prior to licensing. Proof that animals have been vaccinated by a veterinarian must be provided before licensing.
  • Retail Food Establishments

The following licenses must be renewed annually by January 31 of each calendar year, or subject to a fine:

  • Physicals (free annually to any Bayonne resident 16 years old or older) - includes height, weight, blood pressure, diabetes, pap smears, homocult, SMA 23.

  • Screenings: blood pressure, cancer, diabetes.
