Bayonne Heat
Ice Hockey
Team

The Bayonne
Heat Ice Hockey Team is made up of Firefighters from the City
of Bayonne Fire Department, the Jersey City Fire Department
and the Hoboken Fire Department. Also on the team are a
couple of police officers from the City of Bayonne Police Department
and the NJ Transit Police Department.
The team was
established in 1995 by Pepe Casais, Dave Brown and
Stanley Gutt, a couple of Bayonne FD members. The team
was established mainly to play benefit games against different
fire and police departments. Some of the benefit games have been
against the Trenton Fire Department, the Atlantic City Fire Department
and the FDNY. Since then, the team has grown and has become a
force to be reckoned with. The team has won the Staten Island
Fire/Police Hockey league the past 3 years. In this league, the
Heat plays different teams from the NYPD and the FDNY.
The Heat now
plays in the Police and Firefighters Hockey League of New Jersey. Other teams that play
in the league are the Paterson
Fire Department Ice Hockey Club, the New Jersey Municipal Police Ice
Hockey Team and the Newark Fire Department Ice Hockey Team. Below
are some photos of the Bayonne Heat in action against the Trenton
Fire Department in May of 1997.
