Run Card:
1st Alarm: Engine Co. 5,6,3 , Ladder
Co. 3, Battalion 2, Engine Co. 1 as Rapid Intevention Crew
2nd Alarm: Engine Co. 4, Tower Ladder
2, Deputy 2, Chief of Department, Fire Director
Special Call: Engine Co. 2
These are the conditions
that companies were met with upon arrival.
Multiple reports of a woman
trapped on the 2nd floor rear were given.
As Engine Co. 6, 5 and Ladder
Co. 3 made a headlong attempt to make the stairwell to the 2nd
Floor, Engine Co. 3 put a 16' roof
ladder from Ladder Co. 3 to the 2nd floor rear(you can see the
ladder to the left of photo). The officer of Engine Co. 3 vented,
entered and searched the apartment without the protection of
a hoseline and found a female victim and
brought her to the window.
This is the window the rescue
was made from. After getting the female victim to the window,
members of Engine Co. 3 and Tower Ladder
2 assisted in the removal of the female victim. The officers
of Engine Co. 3 and Tower Ladder 2
both received 2nd degree burns during this rescue attempt.
**After the victim was rescued,
members of Tower Ladder 2 along with EMS immediately started
CPR and transported the victim to
the Bayonne Medical Center, where she was pronounced shortly
thereafter.
