Welcome
to the Community Development section of the City
of Bayonne web site. The Community
Development department primarily serves two
governmental functions within the City of
Bayonne. We are responsible for the
enforcement of the Zoning, and Building codes of
the City of Bayonne and the State of New Jersey,
as well as the administration of the $2 million
Community Development Block Grant that Bayonne
receives annually from the U.S. Department of
Housing and Urban Development. |

The Department concentrates on rehabilitating
housing for our low, and moderate-income
residents, improving public facilities, and
supporting public service activities while
ensuring the safety of structures, and quality
of life for all our residents.
