Summer Sounds by the Bay Concerts in Bayonne

 Mayor Jimmy Davis announced that the City of Bayonne will present the Summer Sounds by the Bay concerts Wednesdays, from July 8 through August 26, at 7:00 p.m., weather permitting.  One concert will take place before then on a different day of the week. The first concert in July, featuring the Blue Dawg Band, will take place on Thursday, July 2, weather permitting, as part of our American Independence celebration. Otherwise, the concert series will take place on Wednesdays. The concerts will be held at the amphitheater on the lower level of DiDomenico-16th Street Park, which is located between Avenue A and Newark Bay.

  • Thursday, July 2, 7:00 p.m.: Blue Dawg Band-The Blue Dawg Band is a Bayonne-based group that plays classic rock and blues. The Blue Dawg Band was formed in 2013. Its seasoned performers have played at clubs in New York, Chicago, Miami, and Los Angeles.
  • Wednesday, July 8, 7:00 p.m.: The Cameos-The Cameos are a talented, eight-piece oldies/vocal harmony group.  They create and perform their own unique renditions of the most popular songs of the 1950’s, ‘60’s, and’70’s.
  • Wednesday, July 15, 7:00 p.m.: Bobby Valli-Bobby Valli’s magnificent styling gives the show a sophistication, polish, and a characteristic flair.  He is originally from Newark, and is the younger brother of Frankie Valli of The Four Seasons.  Some of his top songs include “Sherry” and “Oh! What a Night!”
  • Wednesday, July 22, 7:00 p.m.: Large Flowerheads-Take a trip back to the 1960’s with the Large Flowerheads.  Their repertoire includes numbers from The Box Tops, Buckinghams, Beatles, Neil Diamond, Strawberry Alarm Clock, The Rolling Stones, Janis Joplin, Tommy James and The Shondells, Cream, Bob Dylan, Jefferson Airplane, The Human Beinz, and The Hollies.
  • Wednesday, July 29, 7:00 p.m.: Epic Soul-Epic Soul is one of New Jersey’s hottest bands.  The group will offer a great night of classic soul, rhythm and blues, and today’s top hits.
  • Wednesday, August 5, 7:00 p.m.: The Fabulous Grease Band-The Fabulous Grease Band is a seven-member rock ‘n roll party band that performs the greatest hits of the 1950’s through the 1990’s.  Their highly entertaining and energetic delivery of the greatest dance songs has kept the group on top for the last thirty years.
  • Wednesday, August 12, 7:00 p.m.:  Cynthia Holiday and Jazzique-This show features two acts. Cynthia Holiday sings jazz, blues, and pop standards that are full of swing, improvisation, and soul.  Jazzique plays a great variety of the hottest hit songs.
  • Wednesday, August 19, 7:00 p.m.: The Symphonics-The Symphonics cover all types and styles of music including Big Band, Motown, Oldies, Swing, Show Tunes, and Ballroom.
  • Wednesday, August 26, 7:00 p.m.:  The Bronx Wanderers-The Bronx Wanderers offer a rock ‘n roll experience from the 1950’s, ‘60’s, and ‘70’s.  The group is led by Yo’ Vinny, Vinny the Kid, and Nicky Stix, a father and two sons who are living the American rock ‘n roll dream.  They play the rock songbook from its first generation to the music of today.
