The Bayonne Parking Utility reminded downtown residents and businesses that it is time to renew Orange Zone parking permits. Renewal notices have been mailed to current Orange Zone permit holders. That zone includes streets that are near the 8th Street Light Rail Station. The current Orange Zone permits expire on April 30, 2014. Following a grace period, enforcement of the new 2014-2015 parking permits in the Orange Zone will take effect on Monday, June 2, 2014. That is the Monday that comes a week after Memorial Day. Summonses will be issued to violators beginning June 2.
Applicants may file for permits through the mail, and the Parking Utility encourages the public to do so. People do not need to apply for permits in person at City Hall. Permit applications and photocopies of the required documents may be mailed along with a stamped, self-addressed envelope to the Bayonne Parking Utility, 630 Avenue C, Bayonne, NJ07002. Anyone who wishes to apply for permits in person may do so in Room 14, which is in the back corridor of City Hall.
Permit forms for new applicants may be downloaded from the City’s Internet website at www.bayonnenj.org.
The streets included in the Orange Zone are listed on the municipal website.
