Deadline Extended to February 28 for Submitting Redevelopment Proposals for Harbor Station South

Due to substantial developer interest in Harbor Station South, Mayor Mark A. Smith announced that the City of Bayonne has extended the deadline for filing Requests for an Expression of Interest (RFEI) in redeveloping that 55-acre portion of the Peninsula at Bayonne Harbor (the former Military Ocean Terminal).  The deadline for filing an RFEI was originally January 31, 2014.  In response to requests from several developers for additional time to finalize their submissions, the City of Bayonne has announced a one-month extension of the deadline to February 28, 2014.  Mayor Smith said, “In order to provide qualified developers with the time they need to finalize their proposals, we have agreed to give all interested parties additional time for the completion and submission of their proposals.  We look forward to receiving an impressive collection of imaginative ideas for the future of this prime waterfront property.”

Interested parties are invited to submit five hard copies of their proposal to the law firm of McManimon, Scotland & Baumann, LLC, Special Redevelopment Counsel to the City of Bayonne, 75 Livingston Avenue, Suite 200, Roseland, NJ 07068. Submissions must be received by 4:00 p.m. EST on Friday, February 28, 2014. Interested developers can receive more information by emailing with their request.

All respondents to the RFEI must demonstrate their qualifications and experience; submit a concept plan with a site-specific redevelopment proposal; describe their commitment to implementation; detail their financial resources; and provide an estimated offer for the purchase of all or a portion of the Harbor Station South District.

The City plans to select a short list of developers, to conduct interviews with some or all of the short-listed respondents, and make a conditional designation for development in the spring.
