Winter Weather Advisory From Mayor Mark A. Smith

Mayor Mark A. Smith issued a message about today’s impending snow:

The City of Bayonne is prepared for the impending winter storm. Our Office of Emergency Management is coordinating all municipal employees in responding to the forecasted blizzard-like conditions and extremely low temperatures.

Please take steps to secure your property. Be prepared for extremely low temperatures and blizzard-like conditions overnight. Please stay off the roads if at all possible to be safe and to facilitate snow removal. Please remove snow and ice from your sidewalks, but do not throw snow into the street.

Look in on elderly and disabled neighbors and relatives. For non-emergency assistance, please call the Bayonne Police Department at 201-858-6900. For emergencies, please call 9-1-1.

Board of Education schoolyards will be available for parking from Friday afternoon until 6:00 a.m. Monday.

Street-cleaning and alternate side of the street parking will be suspended until Monday.

Stay home, be prepared, and be safe.
