City Announces Holiday Schedule

Mayor Mark A. Smith announced that there will be no garbage or recycling pick-ups on Wednesday, December 25, Christmas Day. Otherwise, regular garbage and recycling pick-ups will take place throughout the holiday season. Neighborhoods that would normally have garbage and recycling pick-ups on Wednesday, December 25, should save their refuse for the next available pick-up day.
On-street parking meters, side-street-sweeping, alternate side of the street parking, and parking permit regulations will be suspended on Tuesday, December 24 (Christmas Eve); Wednesday, December 25 (Christmas Day); Tuesday, December 31 (New Year’s Eve); and Wednesday, January 1 (New Year’s Day).
During the month of December, parking is free in Bayonne Parking Utility lots for non-commercial vehicles. Parking in those lots will be free for all vehicles, both non-commercial and commercial, on the following days: Tuesday, December 24 (Christmas Eve); Wednesday, December 25 (Christmas Day); Tuesday, December 31 (New Year’s Eve); and Wednesday, January 1 (New Year’s Day). Parking lot pay stations are not enforced on Sundays, so parking lots will also be free for all vehicles on Sunday, December 29.
Enforcement of parking fees in parking lots for non-commercial vehicles will resume on Thursday, January 2.
