Winter Storm Advisory for Saturday, December 14

Mayor Mark A. Smith issued a winter storm advisory on Friday concerning the snow that is expected on Saturday, December 14. He advised Bayonne residents, “Forecasts call for snow to start in our area around 10:00 a.m. and continue into Saturday night. Snow accumulations of 4 to 8 inches may occur before turning to rain early Sunday morning. Public Works employees are prepared to mobilize early Saturday morning to commence snow plowing and salting operations. Emergency Management personnel will continue to monitor the track of the storm for the duration of the event.”
He continued, “Please use caution if you must go outdoors on Saturday as sidewalks and roads may be slippery. Clear ice and snow from your sidewalk as soon as possible. Please look in on and assist elderly or infirm neighbors, and report any concerns to the Bayonne Police Department at 201-858-6900.”
“Bayonne public school lots will be available for parking after they are plowed and opened on Saturday. The lots will be available until 6:30 a.m. Monday morning, at which time all vehicles must be removed from school property.”
“Please exercise caution during the storm. Be careful and be safe.”
