Mayor Smith Urges Bayonne Eateries to Sign Up for Super Bowl-Transit Promotion

Mayor Mark A. Smith announced that Bayonne restaurants are eligible to participate in Championship Dining, a program developed by NJ Transit to encourage patronage at New Jersey restaurants. The program enables New Jersey restaurants to provide an exclusive discount incentive to NJ Transit customers to bring more business to their establishments between January 2 and February 9, 2014.

Mayor Smith said, “I would like to encourage Bayonne restaurants to take advantage of Championship Dining. This program will capitalize on the excitement created by the location of the Super Bowl in New Jersey on February 2, 2014. Championship Dining will provide an incentive for NJ Transit passengers to eat in Bayonne this winter. I would like to thank Grace Hanlon, Executive Director of the New Jersey Division of Travel and Tourism, for her support of Bayonne’s involvement in Championship Dining.”

To receive a Championship Dining discount, restaurant customers would show their NJ Transit ticket, pass, employee ID, or special fare media for Super Bowl week. Each restaurant that would like to participate in the program has the option to choose its own exclusive offer to NJ Transit customers. The offer could be a percentage discount, a buy-one-get-one-free policy, or some other kind of promotional program that the restaurant must specify to NJ Transit on the Championship Dining registration form.

Bayonne’s Special Improvement District/Urban Enterprise Zone (SID/UEZ) Office will distribute registration forms for Championship Dining to eateries located in the SID and the UEZ. Bayonne restaurants that are located outside of the SID and the UEZ should contact the SID/UEZ Office at 201-858-6357 to obtain a registration form.
