Ana Quintela, Executive Director of the Bayonne Economic Opportunity Foundation (BEOF), announced that BCB Community Bank and the Atlas Desk Office Service Corporation have both made donations to the BEOF, Bayonne’s community action agency. Quintela said, “Thanks to the support the BEOF received from BCB Bank and Atlas Desk, we will be able to provide more services to the public and to do so in a more professional manner.” Mayor Mark A. Smith said, “On behalf of the City of Bayonne, I would like to commend BCB Bank and Atlas Desk for their generosity to the BEOF. Their contributions will improve the quality of social services that the BEOF can offer to the people of our community.”
Quintela explained that the BEOF has added staff recently to handle LIHEAP, the low-income energy assistance program, and the Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program (SNAP), which was known previously as Food Stamps. As a result of having these programs to administer, the BEOF needed additional office furniture and space for confidential consultations with members of the public.
BCB donated seven cubicles to the BEOF. The bank paid Atlas to do the installation work for the cubicles. Atlas donated file cabinets and chairs for the BEOF staff to use in each cubicle. Quintela thanked Thomas Coughlin, BCB’s Chief Operating Officer, BCB Vice Presidents Cathy Laszkow and Neil Nelson, and Richard Camacho of Atlas for their generous assistance to the BEOF.
