Water Line Construction Starting on O’Brien Court

Mayor Mark A. Smith announced that a new water service line will be installed on O’Brien Court. Construction is expected to start on or about Monday, October 21, and will last for up to four weeks. Fletcher Creamer, the construction contractor, will install a new eight- inch water line to replace the existing four-inch line. No interruption in water service is expected. United Water, the management partner of the Bayonne Municipal Utilities Authority, is sending letters to the residents on O’Brien Court to explain the construction. Signs will also be posted on the street. Since construction activities will have an impact on parking on O’Brien Court, the City of Bayonne will offer residents of that street the opportunity to park overnight in the lot behind the 16th Street Fire House.
In the event of any serious situation arising from the construction, O’Brien Court residents are advised to call the main Bayonne Police Department telephone number, 201-858-6900.
