Library Has Contest to Name Baby Groundhogs

Mayor Mark A. Smith announced that the Bayonne Public Library is holding a contest to name a group of baby groundhogs. A photo of the young animals is on display in the Children’s Room of the library, which is located on the second floor of the building at 31st Street and Avenue C. The sponsor of the contest is Marion Cooney, a member of the Nature Club of Bayonne. The contest is open to all children who are Bayonne residents.
Children may place their entries in the naming contest for the baby groundhogs in the ballot box in the Children’s Room. Entries will be accepted through Friday, August 30, the end date for the contest. The winners of the naming contest will pick up their prizes on Monday, September 16, 2013.
