An emergency repair to a damaged valve in the vicinity of West 33rd Street and Avenue A will necessitate a shut down of water service from West 32nd Street to Roosevelt Terrace from Avenue A west to Newark Bay. Areas south of West 32nd Street will not be affected. The shut down should commence this afternoon and extend into the early evening hours.
The Bayonne Department of Public Safety will establish a fire watch in the area. Area residents may wish to fill several vessels with water prior to the shutdown for use during this time period.
We expect full service to be restored early this evening and we appreciate your patience as we work to make this emergency repair. Should you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact the Authority at 201-339-3200. Stay tuned to BAY TV Chanel 78 or visit www.bayonnenj.org for periodic updates.
