An emergency repair to a damaged valve in the vicinity of West 33rd Street and Avenue A will necessitate a shutdown of water service in the area between West 28th Street and West 34th Street, from Avenue A to Newark Bay, including Roosevelt Terrace. The shutdown should commence at approximately 3:30 p.m. this afternoon and extend into the early evening hours of Wednesday, January 25.

The Bayonne Department of Public Safety will establish a fire watch in the area. Residents may wish to fill several vessels with water prior to the shutdown for use during this time period.

We expect full service to be restored early this evening, and we appreciate your patience as we work to make this emergency repair. Should you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact the Authority at 201-339-3200. Stay tuned to BAY-TV Channel 78 or visit www.bayonnenj.org for periodic updates.
