Port Authority To Test Siren on Friday, November 4

On Friday, November 4, 2011 the Port Authority of NY & NJ will be conducting a federally mandated Maritime Transportation Security Act (MTSA) training drill at the Port Newark-Elizabeth Port Authority Marine Terminal. This test is designed to ensure functionality and responsiveness of both tenants and Port Authority staff at its maritime facility.

As part of this training exercise, a siren will sound intermittently between 12:00 Noon-2:00PM. The siren is designed to be heard for approximately a 1-mile radius from the port facilities.

These siren noises will be audible in Bayonne. The siren will be part of a test, and will not indicate an emergency situation.
