The Actors Shakespeare Company of New Jersey City University announced that the company will present a series of Shakespeare plays and events in Bayonne, beginning Sunday, September 18.
On September 18, the Actors Shakespeare Company will offer a two-part event on the lower level of DiDomenico-16th Street Park. The first event will be a festival, beginning at 12:00 noon. Shakespeare actors in the park will present sword-fighting demonstrations, Renaissance music and dancing, sonnets, Shakespearean insults, and more. Following this festival, there will be a one-hour smorgasbord of Shakespearean masterpieces, all woven around the idea that all the world is, indeed, a stage and ‘all the men and women merely players’ in this drama we call life. “All the World’s a Stage” will kick off at 3:00 p.m. with an hour of fun filled activities for the whole family. Admission is free.
The Actors Shakespeare Company of New Jersey City University is offering ‘Bayonne’s Bard in the Park’ project as a gift to Bayonne, setting the stage for Shakespeare’s works and those of other notable playwrights at future shows.
All are welcome to bring their own chairs and blankets, while being entertained by this very talented troupe, which boasts New Jersey City University as its home.
